Data cable problems, does this sound familiar?

The data cable has a broken wire or is burned out.
This problem regularly occurs with the Apple MacBook Pro.
The cable can even short circuit the aluminum housing.
To prevent serious damage to the hard drive or motherboard, replace the data cable as soon as possible


Our advice, test the hard drive first

The hard drive can be tested by using a USB adapter cable or placing it in an external hard drive housing.
Change the startup disk and see if the disk is now bootable (hold down the Option key at startup)
Is the disk readable now? The data cable is unfortunately defective and must be replaced.
